Dear Friends –

Each year, the Greenwoods Foundation (the Foundation) reaches out to the community to ask for support for our Annual Appeal.

The Foundation works alongside the Greenwoods Eldercare Society which has provided over 40 years of caring service to those requiring long term care and assisted living on Salt Spring. Their focus is clear: To be a sustainable dynamic organization using leading edge methods to deliver high quality, life enhancing care that respects dignity, self-worth and uniqueness. They do this by offering a range of programs and services providing specialized residential care, assisted living and community services.

As part of our philosophy of day-to-day care, it is very important to us to model our residences on quality living by strengthening an environment that creates a true sense of home for all Residents.

Our annual fundraising appeal this year reflects this commitment. We are inviting you to donate to Greenwoods either through a general contribution or specifically to one of two funds. These focused funds are:

  • The Environmental Improvement Fund – Supporting projects that address high priority needs related to improving facilities, quality care and care enhancements; or
  • The Education and Training Fund – Supporting the development of current and future Greenwoods staff members.

When making a donation, let us know if you have a preference and wish to target your gift to a particular fund. Of course, all donations over $25 receive a charitable tax receipt.

Should you wish to include a charitable gift to Greenwoods in your legacy planning, we can assure you that the decision will have a major impact and lasting appreciation. Professional advisers can inform you of tax benefits.
