With a coincidental bit of timing, the Greenwoods Foundation announced today the raffle winner of a lovely print entitled “Early Spring Bluebird” created by Salt Spring’s Robert Bateman. Salt Spring resident Penny Sira’s winning ticket was drawn from the many who helped support Greenwoods by buying a raffle ticket.
Former Board of Directors member Claire Taylor generously donated the print to help raise funds for garden supplies and possibly even a new water feature for the gardens at Greenwoods complex care facility and Braehaven assisted living facility on Salt Spring Island.
Penny was thrilled to see the print up close as she’d only seen a tiny version of the image on the raffle ticket she bought. As Penny explained, “You never expect to win when you buy tickets like this. I know exactly where it will be placed. How lovely.”
Thank you to Claire, congratulations to Penny and thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets. Watch this space for new information about future raffles.
